Happy spooky season, crew. 🎃 I'm back from Dallas, still catching up on sleep, and already deep into October content. Let's get into it.

I spent last week in Dallas, Texas at VidSummit, and it was one of those trips that reminds you why you do this. I met a ton of creators and brands, and had one of my favorite conversations of the year with someone about finance, the business side of creating, and old-school YouTube days. Shoutout Rita and also Pietro, who I spoke to about animation!

On the last night, Netflix threw a VIP party for creators, and that's where things got a little surreal. I met a few YouTubers, including Soup Timmy, who has over 6 million subscribers and has worked with MrBeast… and he recognized me from my videos. Turns out he lives pretty close to me, too, so who knows what that could turn into. 👀

Oh, and the Twitch team hooked me up with a pillow for the upcoming streams.

Here's what dropped this week in case you missed it:

New laptop is ordered and the PS5 lands next week. That means Twitch streams are officially about to start, plus a big upgrade for research and editing, especially the long-form pieces I'm working on right now for YouTube, Facebook, and Spotify.

October is going full spooky. This month we're getting into the history of Halloween and Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), plus I'll be sharing some of my all-time favorite spooky movies, games, shows, books, facts, and history.

🦇 Spooky Fact of the Week: The first jack-o'-lanterns weren't pumpkins. In Ireland and Scotland, people carved faces into turnips and potatoes to ward off wandering spirits. Immigrants brought the tradition to America, where pumpkins were bigger and easier to carve.
